Pictured here are banana bread (made by K, adapted from my mom’s signature recipe) and banana country wine (N’s new project). Bananas are on the dubious end of the ethical fruit scale, but when overripe ones go on sale for 39 cents per pound they’re hard to pass up and we usually grab several bunches to use and freeze. Other recent bananactivities have included making smoothies with our homemade yogurt and the local honey left over from the mead-brewing adventure I still need to tell you guys about, and Dorie Greenspan’s banana bundt cake for a banana-loving friend’s birthday.
I’m resisting the urge to make a bananas-related pun. You’re welcome.
